Eighteen volumes of a twenty-volume set of the Shrewsbury Edition of this work, limited to 750 numbered sets; this work is a presentation copy. Uniformly bound in quarter vellum bindings with cloth boards. Top edge gilt.To the limitations page of each volume, an ink inscription states 'Presentation'; to volume XX, there is a further ink inscription stating 'And now for presentation to CJH on his birthday, 1975, from DG'. Loosely inserted to volume I is a publisher's slip stating 'Advance Copy for Review' for volumes I and II. Loosely inserted to volume XVI is a publisher's slip stating 'Advance Copy for Review' for volumes XVI and XVII. Offsetting to the end papers. Many pages unopened to volumes VII and XIII. Pages 14 and 15 to volume XV have been badly opened, causing a loss to page 15, not affecting the text. Very Good Indeed.
