Shy Sam The Wolfdog (Paperback or Softback)

Sam is no ordinary wolf-dog, and Peter and Joan, the family that gave him a home, are no ordinary pet owners. Unforgettable is the devotion that the couple and their dogs share. Enjoy the heartwarming adventure of how Shy Sam found his family pack. Shy Sam was fortunate that he crossed paths with Joan, a dedicated volunteer who had served at the Shy Wolf Rescue. Joan learned to assess the needs and unpredictability of wolfdogs. The animals who already lived at her home, two irascible German Shepards, taught Sam how to be a dog, and Shy Sam showed the Germans the wolf behaviors he would need to survive in the wild. In this story of love, persistence and devotion, we remember the many wolf-dogs that are not as fortunate as Shy Sam. There are more than fifty sanctuaries that accept wolfdogs, and 250,000 to 500,000 wolfdogs living as pets. Read about their unique behaviors and requirements, as well as the story of their breeding background.
