Shipping Terms
Orders usually ship within 2 business days (PLEASE READ FURTHER BELOW ON DELIVERY TIMES). Shipping costs quoted to international customers (non-Canadian ship-to address) on the ABEBooks site are based on an assumed weight of 2.2 lb, or 1 kg, including packing. If your order is heavy or oversized, we may contact you to request an extra shipping charge, as required. Conversely, if your item is small and actual shipping cost is significantly less than the ABEBooks quote we may refund part of the charged shipping cost accordingly. If you have concerns about the quoted shipping cost, and wish to have a more accurate estimate in advance of order, please contact us. Shipment to all locations is by trackable, insured and expedited service only. We do not ship by surface post.
Shipping costs quoted to customers with a Canadian address are based on a maximum packed weight of 5 kg. If your order exceeds this weight, we may contact you to request an extra shipping charge, as required.

- DELIVERY TIMES: Orchid Press GUARANTEES prompt packing and shipment of your order following order processing. Most orders are dispatched by latest the day following your order acceptance and many will depart the very same day. Orchid Press CANNOT GUARANTEE the time it will take the postal system to transport your order to your destination address. Increasingly frequently, due to political and other global conditions, delivery times are stretching beyond the number of working day estimates for airmail service that the ABE site quotes. Our delivery completion record is near 100%--that is, we virtually NEVER lose a parcel that we have dispatched. We ask you to please be patient with the current postal situation which is beyond the influence or control of any of us.
September 25th 2025 - IMPORTANT UPDATE
Currently the Canada Post workers' union is on strike and our post office will not accept any outgoing mail until further notice. For those who have had orders processed but not yet shipped, we will communicate with you regarding options, which are as follows:
- if you prefer not to wait for shipment until the strike is over and advise us of this decision, we will refund the full cost of purchase and shipping via the ABE system
- if you agree by Email to have us hold your parcel & ship once the strike has ended, please note that the original delivery date estimate cannot be honoured, and we will not
accept refund requests for delay of delivery, unless that delivery is delayed beyond the ACTUAL DATE OF SHIPMENT by more than the original delivery interval estimate.
