Most people who start a pressure washing business quit within a year. It's almost never because they didn't work hard enough.
They quit because they charged $75 for a driveway that was worth $250. Because they bought a machine that couldn't run a surface cleaner, so every job took three times as long as it should have. Because they never solved the question of where the next customer comes from. Or because one etched driveway cost them more than they earned all season, and they found out too late that a standard liability policy doesn't cover the surface you were hired to clean.
Every one of those is preventable. This book is how.
No theory. No passive income fantasies. Just the exact steps to start a real business that makes real money - what it costs, what to buy, what to charge, and how to get your first ten customers in the next thirty days.
What's inside
- Three complete startup budgets - itemized at roughly $900, $3,800, and $11,000, with current model names and prices, so you can start from wherever you actually are
- The pump decision that decides everything - why the cheaper machine is a one-season tool and the one two hundred dollars up the shelf lasts five years
- A full rate card for eleven services - house washing, driveways, roofs, decks, gutters, fences, commercial flatwork, fleet - with regional multipliers for high and low cost-of-living markets
- Why hourly pricing quietly destroys you, and the flat-rate math that pays you for getting faster instead of punishing you for it
- The two insurance exclusions that gut a standard policy in this trade, and the exact endorsement to ask your agent for by name
- Your first ten customers in thirty days for under a few hundred dollars, including the one door-hanger tactic that converts five to ten times better than the usual approach
- What the lead platforms really cost per booked job, compared side by side against the free channels
- Soft washing done right - correct chemical concentrations by surface, the plant-protection protocol, and the safety rules that are not optional
- Where your wash water can legally go, what the stormwater rules actually say, and how to stay compliant without buying a reclamation trailer
- Taxes, hiring, and the path to a company you could eventually sell
Plus the parts you'll actually use on the job
A thirty-day launch checklist. A pricing worksheet. Word-for-word scripts for the phone, the front door, the review ask, and the price objection. A sample service agreement. A startup cost sheet. A quick-reference card for chemical ratios, pressure settings, and maintenance intervals.
Built to be read in twenty minutes or used for years
Every chapter opens with a short version box carrying the whole chapter in a handful of bullets. Read only those and you have the entire book in about twenty minutes. Then come back to the chapter itself when you're standing in front of a machine deciding what to buy, or a customer asking what you charge.
Written for anyone from a total beginner with a few hundred dollars to someone building a full-time company with crews.
Every figure in this book is real and researched - actual equipment prices, actual regional service rates, actual insurance costs, actual penalties on the books. Where something genuinely varies by state or can't be verified, the book says so and tells you exactly who to call and what to ask instead of guessing.
Side Hustle Simplicity Startup Guides - plain-English startup guides for people who would rather own the truck than drive someone else's.

Store description
**Please note our transit times are from the date of dispatch.** We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first purchase with us, or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
