Period inscrption dated 1859 on free end paper. Parts 1 & 2, plus case of linen backed folding maps. Books measure 30x23.5.cm. vii, 273pp, [4],638pp, second volume has an engraved title. Slipcase has 14 large linen backed folding plans, with more than one plan on some single plates. Lacking plans 1, Battle of Alma. 2, Plan of Boulair, and possibly a few other plans, plates. BEING SOLD AS A PART SET. Bound in original publushers red embossed cloth, with gilt lettering. Cloth rubbed, some abrasion wear. Generally bindings in good condition. Internally, webbing showing on endpaper joints, contents becoming loose. Page in very good clean condition. Plans have some light spotting, browning. Generally a good clean part set. F Size: Quarto.
