This collection of previously unpublished photographs depict a broad range of signal-boxes, from those built almost 120 years ago to examples from the 1930s, '40s, and '50s. Covering Britain from Newhaven to Stirling, and from Pontypridd to Bridlinton, his superb pictures depict existing boxes such as the impressive 6-arm bracket signal at Radyr Junction as well as signals long gone. He also includes fascinating interior views showing the lever frames, block instruments, and section maps. Distributed in the US by Books International. Annotation c. by Book News, Inc., Portland, Or.
