The booklet provides summaries of four research studies on the usefulness of signing for reading achievement. It also suggests a methodology for a single-subject research study that teachers can conduct to validate for themselves the findings presented.

About the Author

Jan C. Hafer is a former professor in the Department of Education at Gallaudet University.

Robert M. Wilson was Professor Emeritus of Education at the University of Maryland, College Park.
