As CEO and Chairman of Kanakaris Communications, Inc., Mr. Kanakaris successfully negotiated the acquisition of the 25 year old Desience Corporation, a supplier of proprietary computer command installations for NASA, U.S. Navy, FBI, IBM, Apple, Mitsubishi and other government agencies and Fortune 500 companies. In 1999, he signed Internet business agreements with Microsoft, encoding.com, Screaming Media, INXSYS, LMKI Communications, ION Systems, GEO Interactive, and others.
Mr. Kanakaris began writing published articles at an early age with a column called East European Spectrum for the world's largest stamp collecting newspaper, Linn's Stamp News. Later, he wrote about politics, music and home video. He was editor-in-chief of Video Swapper, Video Entertainment, The Video Critic, New Talent Streetscene and L.A.>POP. Mr. Kanakaris was involved in marketing for the world's largest costume jewelry company and a large electronics manufacturer. He became a stockbroker for Dean Witter as part of a personal training and experience program in preparation for becoming CEO of a public company.
