The Silence He Buried: A Cedar Ridge Christian Romantic Suspense

A past he buried. A truth she refuses to ignore. A place God refuses to abandon.

When retired Air Force Colonel Daniel Mercer returns to Cedar Ridge to settle his father’s estate, he expects a simple signature and a quiet exit. Instead, he finds Haven House—a retreat for the weary—broken by storm damage, drowning in debt, and run by the one woman he never stopped carrying in silence.

Grace Bennett has spent decades building a refuge for veterans, widows, and the wounded. She’s survived grief, carried others through theirs, and learned to live without the man who walked away thirty‑two years ago. But Daniel’s return brings more than old memories. A dark pickup watches the property. A sealed Mercer family archive disappears. And a single file left behind carries a name Daniel has avoided for twenty‑four years:

Captain Elias Ward. Red Mesa. 2002.

As danger circles Haven House, Daniel and Grace must confront the truth that broke them—and the mercy that might restore them. But someone is determined to keep the past buried, even if it means destroying the place Grace has fought to protect.

A story of second chances, quiet faith, and the courage to face what love cannot heal until truth is spoken.
