8vo. [7], viii-xiii, [2], 1-170, [4] pp. Green cloth with red, white, and black lettering and decorations on the front board, black lettering and red decorations on the spine, top edge tinted. With occasional in-text illustrations, frontispiece and twenty-four full-page illustrations all by Howard Pyle. Lacking the dust jacket. Davis, PM0644. A nice copy of Pyle's first novel, a historical novel for children concerning the son of a Medieval robber baron. Very Good with modest wear to the boards and spine ends, original owner's bookplate and Christmas gift inscription, and slight fading to the spine.
