Bound in original maroon cloth with gilt lettering and decoration on the spine. Some dark discoloration to upper spine, early owner's info in pencil on front pastedown, otherwise clean and sound - a much better copy than often found of this highly detailed, widely used manual of photographic processes. It was first published in 1863. This is the final edition and is nearly twice as long as the first.
