Simon & Butch (The Doggos)

Book 1 in The Doggos Series

Simon is a smart and thoughtful boy, but his walk to school has become something he dreads. Bullies make each day difficult, and there is also a huge junkyard dog along the way that looks just as frightening.
But Simon soon begins to discover that appearances can be misleading. A simple daily routine leads to an unexpected connection, and Simon starts to see the big dog in a completely different way.
This warm and meaningful story explores bullying, courage, trust, friendship, and the surprising bond that can grow between a child and a dog. It reminds young readers that someone who seems scary at first may turn out to be a very special friend.

Perfect for: children ages 7–11 who love dogs, friendship stories, school adventures, and books about bullying, courage, kindness, and not judging others by appearances. Also a great read-aloud for younger children ages 5–8 with a parent or teacher.
