Simple MIDI Orchestration

Simple MIDI Orchestration: A Practical Guide to Creating Orchestral Music with 16 MIDI Channels

Many musicians assume that realistic MIDI orchestration requires enormous templates, hundreds of tracks, and a complicated workflow. While large templates have their place, they can also overwhelm composers who simply want to write music.

Simple MIDI Orchestration offers a practical alternative. Drawing on years of experience composing and arranging music, Thomas W. Reiner presents a streamlined approach that allows composers, songwriters, students, and producers to create effective orchestral arrangements without unnecessary complexity.

This book demonstrates how a well-designed 16-channel MIDI template can serve as the foundation for a wide variety of orchestral projects. Rather than focusing on technology for its own sake, the emphasis is on musical decision-making, efficient organization, and clear orchestration principles.
