About the Author

William Poe is a writer and visual artist.

He grew up outside Little Rock, Arkansas, as a gay boy navigating life within a conservative family.

The novels in his Powell Legacy Series feature a central character shaped by the suppression of his identity within a moralizing religion, a pressure that, once released, drives him into a life of unchecked freedom and excess, creating conflict with criminal elements that soon threaten his family and the person he loves.

In addition to the Powell Legacy novels, Poe is the author of Endings: Poetry and Prose and Myths and Rhymes.

Poe earned a BA in art and an MA in anthropology and worked in federal service, including at the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian.

His paintings have appeared in juried exhibitions and galleries across the United States.

He lives in Arkansas with his husband.
