Simpler Times and Other Musings

Bill Lewis writes of his lifetime that has stretched from coal oil lights and Model Ts to space travel in a collection of vignettes and musings.

On Sundays in his childhood in the 1930s and 1940s, the relatives sat on the wide porch in rockers and told stories of the past which he soaked up like a sponge from a vantage point on the steps. He enjoyed listening to the mundane and often exciting stories of everyday life and stored them in his memory like a squirrel storing pecans for the winter.

His true stories of American Southern history span from the 1930s to the present day, from the Civil War recollections of aged relatives to his memory of life during WWII and beyond.

Bill Lewis writes amusing and interesting anecdotes about his early life in the country town of Central in Louisiana, and about his later life at work and marriage, with some of his own recipes thrown in.

If his simple stories and musings have stirred good memories of your own, he will be more than delighted.
