Book by Robinson, Marcel.

Grade 1-3-- A reillustrated version of the 1937 edition. Through these songs, three generations of youngsters have been warned of the dangers of traffic, railways, matches, sharp objects, talking to strangers, playing with pop-guns, etc., as well as cautioned against rock-throwing, mistreatment of animals, etc. All these praiseworthy guides to "living defensively" have simple arrangements for piano, guitar, and voice in a large, easy-to-read format suitable for music stands. The illustrations for this edition, evocative of 1930s advertising art, are big, bold, bright period pieces full of the children and dogs of an era long gone. They're more likely to appeal to nostalgic elders than to children of the 90s. --Joan McGrath, Education Centre Lib . , Toronto, Ontario, Canada
