Lorraine Butler Simcox was born and raised in western New York. Her love for chldren, coupled with the desire to help them learn and grow, caused her to embark upon a fulfilling and rewarding teaching career. In recognition of her dedication to the education of children, Lorraine was nominated Disney Teacher of the Year 2004. Lorraine has also been awarded the distinct privilege and honor of being named in the 2006 edition of Who's Who Among America's Teachers, a publication honoring the nation's best and most respected teachers. A Single Red Thread is Lorraine's first children's book and was inspired by her own adoption experience of her daughter Lillian. In addition to Lorraine's Yi-blessing in Lillian, she is graced with the blessing of her husband, Dwight Rex, and their son, Johnathan. They all reside in northwest Georgia where they enjoy family gatherings, the mountain air, and a good hike in the woods with their golden retriever, Lady-Bell.
