Synopsis
Symone Holmes is an 18-year-old high school graduate about to embark on a new life venture as a college freshman. Being a successful entrepreneur and a gifted athlete, one would think her transition would be smoother than most. However, when it is revealed that she is a lesbian, the path she had chosen to walk becomes littered with obstacles she had not anticipated. Now, standing alone, Symone turns to her faith to help unmask the truth in allowing all to see that love, in any form, is love. "I am Your Sister" also depicts the fractured relationship between Symone and her parents and how her loss of an old love gives way to her finding her true love.

"Symone,Symone," Christina repeated, breaking her concentration.
"Huh? What?"
"Did you hearanything I just said?"
"Naw." Stillfocused on the two at the end, Symone asked, "Look, who's that Sam's ova theretalking to?"
"Oh, that'sher roommate Regina Stewart."
"She's a dyke,too," Jasmine made it known.
The word'dyke' cut threw Symone like a sword but before she could comment, CoachMcInnis warned, "Watch your mouth, Jas."
"Sorry Coach.I meant, she's a lesbian, too."
"You say thatlike it's a problem," Symone said.
"Uh, anyfemale that doesn't like the dick has a problem."

"I wanna getsome action in this one if that's cool."
"OH!" Miaresponded with a surprised tone and much attitude. "The new girl wants someaction, Dana. I say let's welcome her to college M-U style."
As the twogrinned and slapped five, Symone said with attitude of her own, "Actually, Iwas thinking more of breakin' y'all in VA style."
The groupsmiled and snickered at Symone's comeback to the senior class guards.
"New girltalks trash. Oh yeah, this should be nice," Deborah smiled. "She will fit inlovely, Coach."
"I'm gonna seeif Sam will let me take her place."
Symone feltthis would give her a chance to properly introduce herself to Samantha'sroommate Regina.
"Excuse me,ladies. Sam, you mind if I run game in your place?"
"Be my guest.I refuse to go more than one round with them anyway."
"Cool."Looking at Regina, Symone greeted, "Hey."

Samanthalooked at Symone then back at Regina. With a huge grin on her face, Samanthaintroduced them.
"Symone, thisis my roommate Regina, Gina . . ."
"SymoneHolmes," Regina began as she cut Samantha off, "the All American studentathlete. I thought I recognized you."
"You study upon people in your spare time?" Symone joked, surprised that Regina knew of her."An unusual hobby maybe?"
"Only when theperson is interesting enough to study up on and the fact that they're an assetto the school and not ashamed of who they are helps too."
Symone's smilegrew bigger in appreciation to Regina's comment just because she knew what shewas referring to.
"So are youthe same way?"
"Of course. Iwouldn't be here playing softball if I wasn't an asset to the school."
"Now you knowthat's not what I . . ."
"Symone, youplaying or what?" yelled Deborah.
"They'rewaiting," pointed Regina.
Symone lookedat Regina and nodded with a smile as if to say this is not over yet before headingto the court.
"Well it'sabout time. Now we can see for ourselves why Coach has been bragging on you somuch," Shevon said.
