Synopsis
Does your family’s schedule take you in separate directions every night? Are you eating fast food far more frequently than you care to admit?Have mealtimes become a mad dash to grab what you can on the go?If you can’t remember when you last gathered around the family table for a leisurely, home-cooked meal with every member present and engaged in a single conversation (no cell phones or surreptitious texting allowed!), then this is the book for you. In it, you'll find a wealth of ideas reclaiming the family dinner hour and using it to build up your loved ones and create positive memories together.Interestingly, two things that have been linked to success later in life are childhood chores and regular meals with the family. So cooking and cleaning together is actually beneficial long after the meal is digested and forgotten. It is our hope that the helpful hints you’ll find in this book will benefit not only you and your children, but manygenerations to come!
About the Author
Jennifer Flanders graduated from Dallas Baptist University in 1986 with a bachelor's degree in mathematics. She completed two years of graduate work at SMU in the same field before she and her husband, Dr. Doug Flanders, started their family. She took her final final just two weeks before their first son was born. Since that time, the author has put her math background to good use by "staying home to multiply." (It has also come in handy as she's home schooled their twelve children, teaching counting to calculus, and everything in between). In her "spare"time, Jennifer enjoys reading, writing, singing, playing with her kids and grandkids, visiting with her husband, and doing a wide variety of needle crafts.
