The Skeena

The Skeena: River of Destiny, by R. G. Large, published by Mitchell Press. This copy is the second edition, January 1958, and was produced as a B.C. Centennial Project for the Prince Rupert Committee. The dust jacket carries a cover illustration of mountains, forest and a steamer on the river, with an author photograph and biographical note on the back panel. The text includes black and white photographs and a map of the Skeena river area. The dust jacket shows heavy wear, with staining and spotting to the front, chipping and loss at the spine ends and corners, and splits along some edges. The spine cloth shows wear at the head and tail. Internally the paper is age toned, with some foxing and markings visible on certain pages. Laid in are a loose photograph, a greetings card, and several handwritten notes, not attached to the text.
