The Skepticism Of The Nineteenth Century: Selections From The Latest Works Of William Gresley (1879)

The Skepticism of the Nineteenth Century is a collection of writings by William Gresley, published in 1879. Gresley was a prominent Anglican clergyman and theologian, who wrote extensively on the challenges posed by skepticism to Christian faith in the 19th century. The book includes selections from some of Gresley's latest works, in which he explores the various forms of skepticism that were prevalent in his time, including scientific, philosophical, and religious skepticism. Gresley argues that skepticism is a natural consequence of the age of reason and enlightenment, but that it can be overcome through a combination of faith, reason, and spiritual discipline. The book is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history of religious thought in the 19th century, and in the ongoing debates between faith and reason. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
