The Sketch Book. By Washington Irving and printed in New York City by G.P. Putnam and Co. 1857, 256 pp, 6.75 x 4.5 , 8vo, hardcover cloth binding. As-is, with rear board detached and held to book by binding on spine. Rubbing and wear to boards and spine. Loss and tears to binding on spine. Small section of pages mostly detached towards back of book. Light markings and marginalia. General age-related toning to pages, along with periodic foxing and wear. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. A mid-19th Century copy of Washington Irving s Sketch Book (formally The Sketch Book of Geoffrey Crayon, Gent.), which remained one of the most ready pieces of literature throughout much of the century.
