15.1x20.8 cm. Uncolored map removed from a U. S. Government document. Very good condition with very light soiling in margins. Scarce large version of this Mexican War Battle plan, depicting one of the very few battles fought in California during the Mexican War. This was the larger of two contemporary issues of this map of a pivotal battle in Southern California during the Mexican War. The smaller issue (5x7 inches or 12.7x17.8 cm.) can also be distinguished by the placement of the title to the right of the plan. On this copy the title is to the left with notes at the bottom right, not the left. Lithographed by Duval of Philadelphia.
