About the Author
Adam J. Singer, MD is Professor and Vice Chairman for Research, Department of Emergency Medicine Stony Brook University and Medical Center. Dr. Singer s main areas of research include cutaneous wound healing, tissue adhesives, pain management, cardiovascular disease, and medical error reduction. He is an Associate Editor for the Journal Academic Emergency Medicine and is a reviewer for multiple other journals. Dr. Singer is a member of the Scientific Review Committee of ACEP, the SAEM Program Committee, and the American Heart Associations' First Aid Task Force. Dr. Singer is also author of Emergency Medicine Pearls. Judd E. Hollander, MD is Professor of Emergency Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania; Research Director and Clinical Research Director, Department of Emergency Medicine, Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania; Professor of Emergency Medicine in Pediatrics, The Children s Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Hollender s research areas are risk stratification of chest pain/ ACS patients, cocaine associated myocardial ischemia and wound and laceration management. Robert M. Blumm,R PA-C is a nationally recognized physician assistant based in Amyityville, NY. Mr. Blumm is immediate Past President of the Association of Plastic Surgery Physician Assistants; former president of the American Association of Surgical Physician Assistants and chairman of the Surgical Congress of the AAPA.
