This is a history of the Sleeping Bear Dunes area of Leelanau and Benzie Counties in northwest Michigan. It also covers the Manitou Islands which are now part of the National Lakeshore. There are many interesting vintage and modern photos as well as useful maps that accompany the text. George Weeks was a Leelanau County resident who authored several books on this region. Contains an index in the rear. There is a long previous owner gift inscription on the half title page, else this is a clean, tight and unmarked book. There is an old bookshop sticker on the lower edge of the rear wrapper, and the bottom edges of the wrappesr are lightly curled. ; Color & B&W Photos & Maps; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 173 pages.
