Sleighing the Motorcycle Man

He’s married. I’m taken. We should’ve been nothing but a Christmas mistake. Instead, I sleighed the outlaw biker they call Humbug… and he won’t stop until I’m his.
Carol
Christmas is my season. I sling drinks at Evervale’s snow-globe bar, hum along to carols, and secretly pray my strait-laced boyfriend will finally propose under the mistletoe. Instead, he picks a fight on Christmas Eve. So I work the holiday shift, pouring shots for strangers… until one of them isn’t a stranger. He’s a storm. Thirty-five, broad-shouldered, and mean enough to make my knees weak. They call him Humbug. He hates Christmas, but when masked men try to rob me, he’s the one who saves me. One look. One touch. One night. And suddenly, I want everything I’ve never let myself want. Rough, raw, wrong. Him.
Humbug
I didn’t walk into that bar looking for a damn thing but whiskey. My wife hates me, my brothers in the Evervale Executioners MC are sick of my bad mood, and Christmas turns my stomach. Then I see her. Carol. Sweet, twenty-two, all sugar and shine, smiling at me like I’m worth saving. I tell myself to walk away, but when danger comes for her, I can’t. I’ll bleed before I let anyone hurt her. Taking her back to the clubhouse should’ve been a mistake. One night of fire, her soft body under mine, her breathless moans in my ear. Now I can’t get her out of my head.
She thinks it was just Christmas Eve. She thinks she’s going back to her good-boy boyfriend. But she’s wrong.
Because Carol didn’t just get sleighed by the motorcycle man who hates Christmas. She sleighed me. And now she’s mine.
