Slimbies: Carter

Carter Thompson never wanted fame.

He wanted to help people.

And he did. His miracle weight-loss injection transformed modern medicine, helped millions, and made him the celebrated face of a healthier future.

Then the reports begin. Aggression. Memory loss. Neurological collapse.

Dead patients who refuse to stay dead.

Slimbies.

After the world falls apart, Carter is put in charge of the Delaware Safe Zone, a fortified community designed to preserve what remained of humanity. But walls can only keep the monsters outside for so long. And if a few lives must be sacrificed to save everyone else... then someone has to be willing to make that choice.

With every failure, Carter pushes farther beyond the boundaries he once believed science should never cross. The people closest to him begin questioning the man they trusted, especially Ben, the boy Carter has spent years shaping into his legacy.

Carter knows history rarely remembers the cost of survival.

But it will certainly remember the person who saved the world.

Slimbies: Carter is a dark companion novella about ambition, control, and the terrible distance between wanting to save humanity and believing you are the only one who can.
