About the Author
Dr Roshan Raman is an Associate Professor in the Department of Multidisciplinary Engineering at The NorthCap University, Gurugram, India. His academic and research work spans thermal and energy systems, computational modelling, artificial intelligence, optimisation, sensors and control, and multidisciplinary engineering education. He has experience in experimental investigations, CFD-based thermal analysis, artificial neural-network modelling and the development of research-oriented teaching and laboratory activities.
His current work on data-centre airflow and thermal performance provides a direct technical foundation for the proposed volume, including the assessment of variable IT loads, airflow distribution, rack temperatures, pressure drop, heat-removal effectiveness and energy-performance indicators. His broader publication and editorial experience supports the coordination of peer review, technical consistency and manuscript delivery.
Professor Dr. Hakan Çalışkan is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Usak University in Turkey. He received his BSc, MSc, and PhD degrees from the Department of Mechanical Engineering (Thermodynamics) at Pamukkale, Eskisehir Osmangazi, and Ege Universities in Turkey, respectively. He worked as a Professor in Department of Mechanical Engineering of Kyung Hee University in Republic of Korea, as a Professor in the Teikyo University in Japan, and as a Researcher in University of Ontario Institute of Technology (Ontario Tech University) in Canada. He is an Assistant Editor/Guest Editor/Editorial Board member of 16 international journals. He is an editorial board member in 11 international journals and an active reviewer in more than 30. He established Usak University Energy, Environment and Sustainability (ENÇES) Application and Research Center and also contributed to postgraduate education activities by establishing the Department of Energy and Environmental Sciences.
Dr. Zafar Said is currently working as a Distinguished Associate Professor in the
Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the United Arab Emirates
University, UAE. He received his doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering from
the University of Malaya, Malaysia, and completed his postdoctoral research at
Khalifa University, UAE. Dr. Said is a recognized leader in energy technology,
nanofluids, and sustainable energy. His major areas of interest include heat
transfer, solar energy systems, and advanced thermofluids. His research focuses on
battery thermal management, enhancement of solar collectors using nanofluids
and turbulators, and the development of stable nanorefrigerants and
nanolubricants. He also applies artificial intelligence and machine learning to
predict thermophysical properties and optimize energy systems. He is the recipient
of several prestigious awards, including the Khalifa Award for Education as
Distinguished University Professor (2025), the Future Pioneer Award in
Sustainability (2025), and Best Academic Research at the 13th Dubai Award for
Sustainable Transport (2024). He has also received the Research and Innovation
Award from the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (2022) and First Place in
Scientific Research at the Excellence and Creative Engineering Award (2023) by the
Society of Engineers, UAE. In recognition of his contributions, he has been
consistently ranked among the world’s top 2% of scientists in the field of energy by
Elsevier BV and Stanford University. In addition to his academic duties, he actively
serves in editorial roles for several international journals and is a frequent keynote
