David Squires is a fitness professional in every sense. His life work is a direct reflection of his early childhood experiences in recreation, fitness and sports. Over the years David has taken part either competitively and/or recreationally in over twenty different sports and fitness activities. Some of his favorites include: Track & Field, Baseball, Basketball, Football, Water Skiing, Snow Skiing, Power Lifting, Body Building, Tennis, Squash and Triathlons.
These experiences lead him to formally study Teaching Methods of Individual, Dual and Team Sports, and later Exercise and Sports Science at Western Washington University. Following his university experience he became a Certified Health/Fitness Instructor through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). The following year David earned an Enhanced Qualification in both Strength Training and Nutrition, also from the ACSM.
A Fitness Professional since 1985, he has taught people of all ages and fitness levels a safe, sensible approach to exercise. David started his career in the United States working in many aspects of the fitness business: Fitness Instructor, Personal Trainer, Group Exercise Instructor, Operations Manager and Fitness Director. He later moved to Shanghai, China as a Club Manager with Clark Hatch Fitness Centers in 1997 and sent over six years working both in China and Malaysia.
With a commitment to lifetime fitness David practices what he teaches; daily focused mental and physical conditioning, together with a balanced nutritional plan. David's philosophy, "Life is a game and we are all athletes; academics, business or sports we all compete at some level. Being fit allows us to compete at our best, making the most of our lives."
