An ancient curse sends a stone silo crashing across the countryside. Houses, barns, and cars are crushed in its path. Grade 1–4—In this story (Stone Arch, 2007) by Michael Dahl, two boys are reading comic books when one of them inadvertently reads one that had been hidden by the Spellbinder, an evil wizard. The comic unleashes the smashing scroll (formerly disguised as a stone silo on a farm) which unrolls, leaving a giant paper trail that threatens to cover the entire Earth. Written in graphic novel format, all the titles in the series feature the mysterious Librarian who is searching for the lost book of the Library of Doom. The narration is steady and the sound effects are minimal, though occasionally distracting. The story is told with a very minimal number of words. Narration can be turned on or off, and the pages can be turned automatically or manually. The CD-ROM features an author interview, background information about the Library of Doom, a glossary, and Internet links.
