Snippets of a Vet's Life: The Early Years

Snippets of a Vet's Life: The Early Years introduces readers to Rob McBride, a young country veterinarian finding his way through the unpredictable world of animals, clients, and country life.

From midnight calls to calving cows and cranky goats, to tender moments of compassion and quiet reflection, these stories reveal the making of a vet, and the heart that lies beneath the gumboots.

Told with warmth, humour, and honesty, this collection captures the essence of Australian rural practice and the timeless bond between humans and animals. Inspired by real events but shaped through fiction, Snippets of a Vet's Life carries the gentle wisdom and wry observation of James Herriot, yet speaks with a voice that is unmistakably Australian.

For readers who love animal tales that make them laugh, think, and sometimes shed a tear - this is a book to savour slowly, one story at a time.

Rod Graham, an experienced Melbourne veterinarian, writes with the authenticity of one who has lived these moments. His stories remind us that compassion, humour, and humility are at the heart of every good veterinarian, and every good story.
