About the Author

Malcolm Simon and John Reeves combine more than 50 years of soccer coaching expertise in their newest coaches guide, Soccer Restart Plays. Two of America's top coaches, Simon and Reeves are the editors of three other highly acclaimed Human Kinetics soccer books: Select Soccer Drills, Coaches Collection of Soccer Drills, and The Soccer Games Book.

Malcolm Simon is the director of physical education and athletics at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He has coached soccer, basketball, tennis, and volleyball in college, camp, and YMCA settings since 1954. His teams include NAIA national champions and runners-up. Sixteen of his players have been named to All-America teams, and five have gone on to play professional soccer nationally and internationally, including Hernan "Chico" Borja. Simon is a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and the Intercollegiate Soccer Association of America.

John Reeves has been coaching soccer since 1961 at both the youth and collegiate levels. Currently the director of intercollegiate athletics and physical education at Columbia University, Reeves is a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and is past-president of the Intercollegiate Soccer Association of America. He was twice named New Jersey Soccer Coach of the Year. Dr. Reeves earned his doctoral degree in 1983 from Columbia University.
