Social Development and Sexual Behavior in Adolescents: Introduction, Self Esteem and Romantic Relationships, Emotional Health and Romantic . from Study, Discussion and Conclusion

The book explores the development of social skills and how they influence sexual development among adolescents. Through an empirical investigation of the possible effects of Self esteem, Emotional Health, and Social Competence on Romantic Relationship among Adolescents, it was found out that social competence and emotional health significantly influences romantic relationship. The book thus noted that while healthy romantic relationships have many potential benefits for adolescents, unhealthy relationship pose risks that may have lasting effects. Therefore, the authors suggested that efforts should be made by parents, especially to ensure that the needed affection and attention that are essential for their children’s social and psychological development are put in place.

Dr. Adedeji Julius Ogunleye is a seasoned scholar, born on 24th June, 1970. He had his University Education at the University of Ibadan and University of Ado Ekiti; both in Southwestern Nigeria. Dr. Ogunleye’s interest is in social research, sexual behaviors and Industrial/Organizational Psychology.
