Luca Caviglione is a Researcher at the Institute of Intelligent Systems for Automation (Istituto di Studi sui Sistemi Intelligenti per l'Automazione, ISSIA) of the Italian National Research Council (CNR). In 2007 he was with the Italian National Consortium for Telecommunications (CNIT), University of Genoa Research Unit. He has a PhD in Electronic and Computer Engineering from the University of Genoa, Italy. His research interests include peer-to-peer (p2p) systems, IPv6, social networks, wireless communications, and network security. He is author and co-author of over 80 academic publications, and several patents in the field of p2p. He has been involved in Research Projects funded by the ESA, the EU and MIUR. He is a Work Group Leader of the Italian IPv6 Task Force, a contract Professor in the field of p2p networking and a Professional Engineer. From 2011, he is an Associate Editor for the Transactions on Emerging Telecommunications Technologies, Wiley.
Mauro Coccoli received the Laurea Degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Genoa, in 1995. He received the PhD in Electronic Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Genoa in 2000. He is Assistant Professor at the University of Genoa, since December 2005. Since 2012, he is with the DIBRIS (Department of Informatics, Bioengineering, Robotics, and Systems Engineering), formerly DIST (Department of Communications, Computer and Systems Science), where he was a temporary researcher since late 1995. He is course lecturer for: "Data Base and Information Systems" since 2005, "Laboratory of Computer Science" since 2007, and "Fundamentals of Computer Science" since 2008, at the University of Genoa, Department of Education Science. His research interests include e-learning, social networks, and multi-agent systems.
Alessio Merlo received his PhD in Computer Science from University of Genoa (Italy) where he worked on performance and access control issues related to Grid Computing. He is currently serving as a Researcher at E-Campus University, Department of Engineering. His research interests are focused on performance and security issues related to Web and distributed systems (Grid, Cloud). He is currently working on security issues related to Android platform.
