In fair condition, with rubbing and wear to boards, along with head and heel of spine. Hinges splitting at front and back. Text block remains complete and bound with occasional wear. General age-related toning to pages throughout. Signature on title page. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. An early, if not first edition, printing of the collection of works by American author, transcendentalist and abolitionist Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882).
