Soft Computing: New Trends and Applications (Advanced Textbooks in Control and Signal Processing)

The book presents a clear understanding of a new type of computation system, the Cellular Neural Network (CNN), which has been successfully applied to the solution of many heavy computation problems, mainly in the fields of image processing and complex partial differential equations. The text describes how CNN will improve the soft-computation toolbox, and examines the many applications of soft computing to complex systems.

From the reviews:

"The coverage is concise but complete...Overall, the treatment is comprehensive, with a good balance of the fundamental concepts, the hybrid systems, and applications. The text contains a number of mathematical forumlas, but they are not overbearing. Flowcharts and sample results are helpful for illustrating the underlying concepts. For readers new to the field, this is an excellent book to start learning about the field and its current scope."
