Lovely fresh looking cloth boards with gilt title lettering and vignette still nice and crisp on the front board, and titles and motif on the spine also in gilt. A little knocked and worn, with the odd small dent at the extremities. Name inscribed of previous owner in blue pen on the "This book belongs to" section. Original black end papers; owner name inscribed in pencil on the back paste down page which is hard to spot since it is dark pencil on black paper. The pages are nice and clean albeit with some mild to moderate foxing on the early and rear fly papers and, more especially to the tissue guarding of the frontispiece and fore edge of the title page. Gilt to the page block edge nice and clean so, in all, a very presentable copy of this scarce book.

Store description
Richardson Rare Books Tel. 01472 823900 was formerly known as Mr. Books which is located on Tonbridge High Street in Kent, England for over 12 years up until July 2017. Due to the sale of the bricks and mortar side of the business it made sense to change the name to reflect a shift of direction. Since then we have been trading online, at PBFA fairs and Bloomsbury Book Fairs, as well as showcases at select antique centres in Lincolnshire. We don't specialise in anything in particular, just rare and fine books on many subjects. Over the years we have built up an impressive range of signed modern fiction firsts which aren't always listed on abebooks so please do call us if you have any particularly collections you'd like to add to. The stock is being constantly replenished so it's always worth visiting us at one of the fairs we exhibit at. See web site for details (subject to constructing it.)…
