These course notes, workbook and self-test booklet is intended for Level III Laser Technicians. In a manufacturing environment, they generally fabricate lasers, including the installation and testing of laser amplifying crystals and amplifiers. This booklet focuses on solid state laser amplifying crystals and amplifiers, and their associated issues.

Dr. Sydney Sukuta is currently a Laser Technology professor in California in the USA. He also has industry experience working for some of the world's leading laser manufacturers in Silicon Valley where he saw first-hand the issues they encounter daily. In response, Dr. Sukuta developed prescriptive short courses to help absolve most of these issues
