First up in the morning, a little boy gets his own breakfast and brings his parents a cup of tea.

PreSchool-- Important parts of a preschooler's day, waking up and going to bed, are shown in these charming but slight stories. Commonplace details are presented with the feisty "Somebody" reacting in a distinctive, amusing manner. In . . . Awake , his mother and father wake up to the clatter of dishes in the kitchen while the child prepares his own breakfast in a delightfully sloppy way. When all grows quiet, they suspect mischief. Minutes later , the child brings them his simple version of breakfast in bed. In . . . Sleepy, the same child nods over his crayons, but when his mother suggests getting ready for bed, he fights off his drowsiness by bouncing upstairs and prancing into his pajamas. Then, while his mother gets his favorite book, he falls asleep. Impressionistic pastel watercolors effectively capture the whirlwind that a small boy creates. Familiar, slice-of-life adventures for adults and preschoolers to share. --Nancy Seiner, The Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh
