--"THE SONG of SOLOMON"-- By Zeev Raban, illustrator. 13"x 9.5". (26) finely drawn and beautifully colored illustrations. Psalms written in Hebrew, with English translations on opposite pages. A good example of Zeev Raban's specific eclectic mix of European (Art Nouveau) and Oriental (Persian & Syrian) styles that he used to portray this biblical poem celebrating erotic human love. Decorative magenta cloth cover-- it is unpaginated, extremities bumped and work, re-backed, page edges chipped, tissue guards' tones, dome creased. Zeev Raban dedicated his book "To Professor Boris Schatz, founder and manager of the 'Bezalel' Arts & Crafts School in Jerusalem with friendship and veneration.' Published by The Song of Songs Publishing Co., Bezalel, Jerusalem, 1930.
