The Sons of Mil: The Innisfail Cycle: Book One

Old Gods Reign

An outlaw emerges from self-imposed exile to face a treacherous ragtag of murderous zealots, ambitious warlords, dangerous women- and rogues of every stripe.

Ben Maeden is certainly no hero. He'd rather drink himself to sleep at the gaming tables every night than involve himself in endless, tiresome political squabbles. That is, until he stumbles across a young noblewoman in desperate need of his help. This one act of conscience propels them both into the heart of a dangerous, far-reaching plot with disastrous implications for them both.

L.M. Riviere grew up on 80's flicks and twisted fairy tales... and it shows. Her stories flirt with the inherent darkness of the human condition, blending fable, mythology, and pseudo-historical narrative- in an effort to seduce, mystify, and unsettle readers. She'd be overjoyed to learn anyone lost sleep over one of her yarns. She is most influenced by the works of Peter Beresford Ellis, J.R.R. Tolkien, Charles Dickens, Frank Herbert, Ann Rice, and Juliet Marillier. Her favorite book of all time, is Herbert's 'Dune'.Riviere is also a Photographer, Editor, and Marketing Professional. When she isn't writing, she's battling the elements for the perfect shot, hiking any and everywhere, or playing in myriad bodies of water.
