I just stood.

Frozen.

My feet were in cement on the sidewalk. I was a monument for all missed connections, what ifs, too soons, buts, ands, too lates, and everything else in between, before, and after.

An American in Colombia sees more kindness from the French and Colombians than he has ever seen back at home. As he watches his marriage and health unravel, he records it all on his phone. With his thumb, on airplanes and in hotel rooms, he writes this story.
