The Sorting (The Compass Chronicles)

In the dystopian kingdom of Neolina, sometimes your future isn't chosen-it's forced upon you. For Jayra Baker, graduating her apprenticeship marks the end of freedom. Her choices are to submit to the Sorting-a mysterious magical ceremony that finds soulmates-or to be coerced into an arranged marriage by the ruling elite.

Jayra refuses both.

When the mayor's ruthless son targets her, Jayra's dream of becoming an independent healer begins to collapse. Her only unlikely ally is Arin, a powerful warrior with dark secrets and a dangerous connection to her after a healing goes impossibly, magically wrong.

As political corruption tightens its grip and whispers of rebellion spread through Neolina, Jayra enters the Sorting as her last chance of escape. But defiance comes at a deadly cost. The deeper Jayra digs into the past, the more she discovers that the city's walls were not meant to keep danger out but to keep control of those within.

And if Jayra is right, entering the Sorting could do more than spark a rebellion.

It could cause a revolution.

Now hunted by those in power and torn between destiny and freedom, Jayra must decide who to trust before the kingdom's deadly secrets consume them all.

Perfect for fans of romantic dystopian fantasy, magical soulmate bonds, forbidden love, and strong female heroines, The Sorting is a gripping high-YA adventure filled with rebellion, secrets, and dangerous power.
