Sometimes people have a hard time figuring out their niche or purpose in life, where others are able to identify theirs before the game of life begins. For Mahogany Brown, she was fortunate enough to know her purpose at an early age. Since age two years old, you could always catch Mahogany with some form of makeup in tote. As Mahogany started her journey through life you always found her person beautifully canvassed in cosmetics in spite of any adversity. In the early 1990’s Mahogany gained employment at a hospital as a admitting representative still endowed in her bright colors and eccentric style. Mahogany was advised by her then supervisor that her style was not conducive with the refined imagery of corporate America and that she belonged in "Hollywood." Soon Mahogany packed up her two small children and relocated back to Southern California. Shortly after relocating to pursue her career as a makeup artist, Mahogany later realized she really lacked the technical skill and professional coaching it took to break into the industry. In 2001, Mahogany enrolled at Hair Masters University to study cosmetology and successfully completed 1600 hours. Immediately following school, Mahogany landed a job as an assistant for Celebrity Master Barber/Stylist Yolanda “Taki “Hill. Soon afterwards, Mahogany earned the title of "Master Technician." Not losing sight of her passion for makeup and the artistry, Mahogany found herself enjoying the art of hair design. For the past 11 years, Mahogany has achieved many goals and endured lots of struggles. In 2007 Mahogany moved back to her hometown of Portland, Oregon with her three children (the youngest born in 2007), where she worked in various salons, gaining notoriety as a Glamour Technician and Celebrity Stylist. In 2010, Mahogany found herself joining the team of Paul Mitchell the School - Portland as a Learning Leader, Educator of Extensions, Nail Design and Master Makeup Artist. With her exposure to educating, Mahogany decided to take her undying passion for makeup and education and step out on faith...Mahogany Brown Experience, the brand was born! Mahogany has had the opportunity to work with some major hitters in the fashion and entertainment industry.
