The Universe is full of fascinating and otherworldly noises and hearing them is unlike how we hear things on Earth. Some of the sounds in this book are real noises recorded in space, and some are created using data from radiation given out by distant objects such as stars and galaxies.

With a push of each button, you can listen to:

• The thunderous launch of a Space Shuttle.
• The beep of Sputnik 1, a sound heard all over the world as the satellite became the first sent into orbit.
• Neil Armstrong’s historic "One small step…" uttered as he first set foot on the Moon.
• The clicking sound of the Perseverance rover firing its laser at rocks on Mars.
• The history-making whirr of the Mars helicopter Ingenuity.
• Singing signals from a comet.
• The roar of ripples in the magnetic field of Saturn’s moon Enceladus.
• The rattle of colliding space rocks.
• The thud of a pulsar 959 light years away.
• Bell-like music made using signals from a supernova.
• The mysterious boom of a black hole.

This amazing range of sounds offers a new and interactive way of learning about space. The science behind each sound is expertly explained by experienced children’s author Anna Claybourne and consulted by space scientist Dr Sarah Mitchell. Illustrations by Teo Georgiev bring stunning space scenes to life and the eco-friendly plastic-free sound panel and large hardback format add to the gift appeal of this beautiful book.
