About the Author

Karin Bijsterveld is a historian and Professor of Science, Technology and Modern Culture at Maastricht University, Netherlands. Her research focuses on technological cultures of sound. She co-edited the »Oxford Handbook of Sound Studies« (together with Trevor Pinch).
