About this title

Synopsis

In A Source of The Spirit of Space through the Architecture of Louis I. Kahn, Junko Tsuchida seeks sources of inspiration for Kahn's architecture. While he developed his profound concepts, “Form and Design,” “Silence and Light,” and “Institutions of Man,” Kahn never ceased to search for the beginnings. It was the timeless quality of space that he sought to create. That was what he gave to his architecture, spirit of space. This book shows the important part of Kahn's philosophy and his works of architecture together as sources of inspiration, which would bring about the architecture of new generations.
