© 1979: 2nd in the 'Xanth' series of books. 5th printing of 1984 edition:- Synopsis: As the ruler of a country steeped in enchantment, King Trent was naturally curious about the source of its magic. Bink, the only one of his subjects immune to supernatural harm, was ordered to undertake a quest to discover the wellspring of Xanth's uniqueness. From the start, Bink and his companions, Chester the centaur and Crombie, the soldier transformed into a griffin, were harried by an unseen enemy. Even the power of Good Magician Humphrey scarcely saved their lives. Then when Humphrey and Crombie turned against him, all seemed lost for Bink. But his ingenuity and luck prevailed, he reached his goal, and the King's orders were carried out. But Bink's next act was totally unexpected - he set out utterly to destroy the Magic of Xanth!:- (original cost £4.50).

Terms of sale
All books offered for sale are complete and sound (any missing / loose pages or cracked / broken spines will be mentioned in the book description). Our book-seller images are of, not just the listed edition / print, but also of the actual book you will be buying (the cover collages are made from 3 individual scans of each book that are then displayed as a wrap-around image - the books themselves are NOT damaged in any way by this process). Book sizes, where given, are to the nearest ¼". Each book has then been graded according to its condition, taking into account the degree of creasing to the covers and/or spine, presence of scuff marks or tears, any pen marks or inscriptions & any page tanning. We try to be as fair & accurate as possible with the grading of our books, but if you are unhappy with any classification of condition please let us know as soon as possible. If, for any reason at all, you are unhappy with your purchase, we offer a no quibble, money back guarantee within 30 days of purchase. We also welcome any feedback or comments that you may have as we are always trying to maintain our high levels of customer service.
