These articles deal with the literature, politics, history, and culture of Southeast Asia, addressing Benedict Anderson's broad concerns.
James T. Siegel, retired, was Professor of Anthropology at Cornell University. Audrey R. Kahin, former managing editor of Cornell's Southeast Asia Publications and editor of its Indonesia journal, is currently researching problems of integration in Indonesia and writing a biography of Mohammad Natsir.
