Pearson Sharp grew up in the woods of Ohio, which is where much of the imagery in The Sovereign comes from. The idea for the novel started when he was in 6th Grade, but he didn't begin writing until he was living in England many years later. The story took seven years to complete, and Pearson is currently working on the next book in the series. He now lives in Southern California, where he enjoys sailing, snorkelling, and hiking in the mountains near Laguna.
